Nature

With its forest, rocks and sea, Söderlångvik’s rural setting spans the most beautiful countryside Finland has to offer. The natural environment around the farm is virtually untouched. The park below the main building offers delightful walks whatever the season. The nature trail is another option if you want to explore further afield and take in the entire farm.

Nature trail

The nature trail, named “Monastigen” after actress Mona Mårtensson starts at the car park. Guides to the route are available from the café there. In return for the map, a voluntary donation to charity would be appreciated.

We request that visitors keep to the marked route. At normal walking pace, the trail takes about 1.5 hours. Most of the path is easily accessible.

The trail runs through the park. It continues along the beach to a small hill with a windmill and then runs through the apple orchard. The guide provides information on the buildings along the way.

Animals in the area include hares, foxes, badgers, racoon dogs, deer, white-tailed deer and elk. The bay skirted by the path is home to several species of water birds such as mallards, goldeneye, mute swans and great crested grebes. In the mornings sea eagles can be seen fishing in the sea.
